Job purpose and key deliverablesThis role will be based in the Gauteng Region.
The role of Territory Sales Manager is to lead, manage and equip Sales  Representatives within the defined area, to implement and achieve specific trade marketing & distribution objectives in line with the Territory Operational Plan within the defined geography. The Territory Manager will do so by utilising resources effectively and efficiently.

The most important metrics by which successful performance will be judged are:

  • Achievement of planned targets and objectives both in terms of quality and quantity within budget and time scale. 
  • Sales Volume. 
  • Distribution , Availability , Visibility , Quality. 
  • Productivity targets for the team. 
  • Motivating, coaching and developing self and direct reports to achieve superior in store execution. 
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with clients, external suppliers and commercial partners. 
  • Selling Skills. 
  • Negotiation and influencing
Essential requirements

  • Grade 12 
  • Degree, preferably in Marketing/Business Management
Desirable requirements

  • 18months -2years Trade Marketing Representative Experience (Internal). 
  • Obtained a consistent succesful perfomance rating in the past 18 to 24 months in the current role. 
  • 5 years relevant FMCG experience. (External)  
  • Data interpretation and analytical skills coupled with a high level computer literacy and skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Lotus Notes with the aptitude to learn and understand new computer interventions quickly, united, with the  ability to summarise large amounts of diverse data into actionable information. 
  • Working knowledge of all TM & D systems currently available, i.e. V3, FENER, Cycle Planning, and RCS. (Internal) 
  • Accuracy, with good written and verbal presentation skills combined with above average negotiation and analytical ability rounded off with the capacity to communicate with senior BATSA Management. 
  • Ability to effectively organise and prioritise multiple projects and associated tasks, while delivering on time and within budget. 
  • Understanding of the strategic planning principles of the company and the direction being followed. 
  • Good understanding of consumer segmentation, profitability, pricing, product ranging, utilization of research, space management and plan-o-grams. 
  • Basic understanding of Account Management. 
  • Sustained levels of leadership capabilities with the ability to operate efficiently in the Manager of Others passage. 
  • Communication / Interpersonal skills: Communicates clearly, persuasively and is successful in influencing others. 
  • Negotiating & strategic thinking abilities. 
  • Analytical and Quantitative skills as a key driver for results. 
  • Leads by setting a personal example of excellence.
